Cleared workable ground beside untouched thicket on Indiana acreage
— Land clearing

From overgrown to workable

Everything above ground comes out, the roots that would haunt your grade come out, and what's left is dirt a builder or a tractor can actually use.

What does full clearing include?

Clearing or mulching — which does your parcel need?

Simple test: is something being built there? Homes, pole barns, shops, drives and pond dams want true clearing on their footprint — no mulch in the subgrade, no stumps under slabs. Reclaiming views, pasture, trails or edges? Mulching does that faster and cheaper. Most larger parcels want both: clear the build footprint, mulch the rest — and we quote it that split way by default, because it usually saves thousands.

What does clearing cost in central Indiana?

Per-acre pricing swings with density and material handling. Light growth with grind-in-place lands near mulching money ($1,500–$3,000/acre); dense mature growth with full grubbing and haul-off runs several thousand per acre beyond that. Anything past a couple of acres gets walked in person before a number leaves our mouths — free — because guessing acreage work from the road is how change orders are born. Our quotes hold, and they separate must-do from nice-to-do so you can phase.

What about drains, wetlands and the stuff that bites?

Boone County ground is laced with regulated drains, and their easements carry rules about clearing and pile placement. Designated wetlands and floodways carry more. This is exactly what the walk-through catches: we identify the constraints up front, keep the work lawful, and keep you out of letters-from-the-county territory. If a corner of your parcel genuinely can't be touched, better to know before the machine's on the trailer.

After the clearing

Bare workable dirt wants a next step — seed, stone or a builder's schedule. We time clearing so the ground doesn't sit raw through a wet season, coordinate directly with builders and dirt contractors on pad handoffs, and quote regrowth-control passes where the seed bank is aggressive. Cleared ground stays cleared when the plan says what happens next.
